“Dr. JoAnna is the SWEETEST! I met her on Instagram years ago and it wasn’t until recently that I met her in person for a blemish on my cheek that would NOT go away. I saw an esthetician who suggested I see a dermatologist or go to a medspa. I remember Dr. JoAnna posting about skin care [and how flawless her skin is] so I contacted her right away.

It was the best decision I ever made. We did a virtual consult first and then set up an in person appt. She knew exactly what was going on with my little blemish, made a recommendation to do a steroid shot, and I’m not kidding you, it’s 90% faded. “Dr. Nguyen’s schedule was already full, but she said she would work me in if I could come 15 minutes before appointments usually start. Dr. JoAnna saw me first thing that morning!

After closely examining my wound, she explained that I needed a forehead flap reconstruction. The first step would take cartilage from my ear to create a framework and then a skin graft which would remain attached to its donor site for 3 weeks while it adjusted to its new home on my nose. The second step would cut the connection to the donor site. The procedures would be done at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Dr. JoAnna spent more time than I expected answering my questions and calming my fears. By the time I left her office, I had complete confidence in her ability to put me back together.”
